Apple says price hikes are hitting its devices

Tim Cook, CEO of the Cupertino company, revealed the news in an interview wall street journal. It is not clear when the prices of Apple products will increase. Apple recently discontinued the 256GB Mac Mini, causing the desktop’s price to rise. Cook criticized the increased allocation of DRAM, high-bandwidth memory, for AI servers. Google has eliminated the bypasses that allowed ad blockers to function in Chrome
Google is making a change to Chromium that will bring an end to the popular ad blocking extension. A few years ago, Google started moving to Manifest V3 extensions, which meant that the older version, i.e. Manifest V2, was being removed. Google claimed that Manifest V3 offers better security and performance, but it was unclear what its goal was.
As chip.in According to the report, this has particularly affected content blockers like uBlock Origin, which is without a doubt the most popular ad blocking extension. It, and other ad blocking add-ons that depended on Manifest V2, were removed from the Chrome Webstore. However, until then, there was some legacy code that allowed users to bypass restrictions in Chrome and use uBlock Origin.
But now, it is coming to an end. Google has confirmed the removal of the last bits of Manifest V2 from Chromium’s code, meaning users will no longer be able to use uBlock Origin and other ad blockers. This change will take effect with the release of Chrome 150, which is expected to ship in late June 2026.
However, there are alternatives one can consider, such as using the uBlock Origin Lite, which is a less powerful version of its bigger brother. Or, you can switch to Firefox, which continues to support Manifest V2 and V3 extensions. Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi also support the Manifest V2 extension, and also come with their own built-in ad blockers.
